1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
12 oz. beer, at room temperature
Preheat the oven to 375. Grease a 9×5 loaf pan.
In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients. Add the warm beer in one quick pour. Quickly stir to combine. Scrape mixture into loaf pan.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Cool in pan, on cooling rack, 10-15 minutes. Then remove from pan.
Makes 10 slices.

This might be a dumb question, but could you use quick oats, or are rolled oats imperitive (though I’m no oat expert… so maybe they are they same?)
