The goetta recipe said to serve with applesauce and it sounded like a great excuse to make some!
3 pounds apples, peeled, cored, and chunked
1 1/2 cups water
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Combine all ingredients in a crockpot. Cook 4-5 hours or until apples are soft. Mash with potato masher.
8 servings.

…made some for my family yesterday too…even better with brown sugar. Hubby but cinnamon icecream on top of his warm sauce…like pie without the crust and calories!
